Hindu Kush-capable Headover

Bought one of these in the Kandahar PX and used it as a hood two years ago when the outside air temperature was 20 Fahrenheit with gusts up to 50 knots. That's windchill! (And Kandahar is Afghanistan's warm spot.) Our Kawasaki Mule was in the shop and we had to walk about 1.5 miles in that wind and cold from Aviation TOC past the civilian airport terminal. That headover saved me from frostbite. I have carried one ever since when the cold weather comes. Don't go to the Hindu Kush without one.

I bought one of these polypro headovers years ago to add to my cold weather gear. I began to use it more while motorcycling during the winter on my frosty-balls tours. It's saved my nose, lipsa nd chin many an occasion at 50-60mph. Imagine what it can do for you when you're on patrol. Get 2, one as a neck and face wrap, another for your head.

I've had mine for about ten years. I used it daily in winter in the Japan's northern island of Hokkido. I am now retired and living in Northern Utah. I wore mine this morning shoveling snow. Don't leave home without it!

Headovers are the way to go.
I have used mine many times and am off to Eglin AFB to do testing at -40C...The headover will be among the first things packed..

I agree, get 2. I took mine to Afghanistan in Dec 2001, and I loved it. Nothing like a snugly neck wrap to help keep warm. I think they are available in army brown, now. I din't like the black color.
