Long before the military heard of Desert Storm, troops trained in wooded areas, jungles, and throughout mountainous regions. Walmart has been selling the saw for years. Tell them i sent U.

In addition to the folding saw, there is a wire saw, sometimes called a "bone" , or survival saw, with key rings at each end, which could also be carried. Coiled, it fits into any pocket, has little weight or bulk, and is available at camping suppliers.

Sportsman's Guide currently (8 Feb) has a Gerber saw (slides in and out of the handle) and a Gator axe for about $20 each. Gerbertools.com has an axe and saw combo for about $40--same axe as SG, but the saw fits into the handle and holds in place with a magnet.
