Super Space-saver Saw

Long before the military heard of Desert Storm, troops trained in wooded areas, jungles, and throughout mountainous regions. To make a good bunker, or have good overhead cover, trees were the article of choice. To turn those trees from growing plant to protective cover or heating material, we needed a saw. I carried a folding saw with me through most of my 25 years of service. If you can't carry a chainsaw, pack one of these.

Walmart has been selling the saw for years. Tell them i sent U.

In addition to the folding saw, there is a wire saw, sometimes called a "bone" , or survival saw, with key rings at each end, which could also be carried. Coiled, it fits into any pocket, has little weight or bulk, and is available at camping suppliers.

Sportsman's Guide currently (8 Feb) has a Gerber saw (slides in and out of the handle) and a Gator axe for about $20 each. Gerbertools.com has an axe and saw combo for about $40--same axe as SG, but the saw fits into the handle and holds in place with a magnet.
