Mine's the green duffle bag...

Transmitfrntside

Submitted by Lori Baumgartner

When I was a young GI stationed at Ft. Stewart the one thing that I couldn't live without was a key chain beeper. I’ll tell you why. Know when your getting ready to grab your gear off the back of a five ton truck, and of course, everyone's gear looks just like everybody else's? Well this little device hooks on to your gear and when you point the transmitter at it, it beeps!! We found it to be the perfect thing to locate lost gear. Pretty cool huh???

ED -- Lori, you didn't include a link for the product you described, but I thought your suggestion warranted posting, so I did some looking around. Is this similar to what you used?

Or do as I did and save yourself money. Back in 1976 when flying to Germany, I placed a ring of white masking tape around my duffle bag. Easy to spot.

does anyone know who the soldier is in the photo?

When i was in 1960 to 1992 ( seems like forever ) i used yellow plastic tape on the handels of my bags 3 strips of yellow stood out al the time and no one else ever did it real good at hair ports also

These look interesting but...is it airport friendly...will our "only time in their lives have any power" kids at the airport hassle you because it looks like a bomb initiator? Or, have they seen these before?

I use Black Duct Tape. It will hold up to just about any beating the bag goes through. I've had the same black ring around my bag for 4 years and running.

I just wrote on the duffle bag every military base that I went to. It built up over the years and it worked for a long time until everybody else in my outfits started doing it too. Then I started checking my handwriting. I got a couple of offers from the news for an interview but I declined for obvious reasons.

I just use some color of surveyor's tape, tied to the handle of my luggage. Super cheap.
