Gun Camera, part deux

|

Submitted by Simon

ED -- This camera was posted by Simon as an alternative to the SC-X210L I mentioned in my original piece. Since there wasn't much data posted with the comment, I did a little research and dug up the specs.

The ATC2K weighs half a pound, is waterproof to 3m, shock resistant, runs off of two AA batteries, and uses standard SD digital memory cards for data storage (You can carry multiple cards and replace them as they fill up.)

Get the ATC2K here

D'oh! Sorry about that :) Funnily enough I had to look up the camera at Oregon Scientific to remember the model name at the time I had posted.

They're also relatively cheap so they'd almost be good as a supplimental camera when you don't want to bring your day to day camcorder with you.

Have you actually mounted this to a gun and fired that gun? This "gun camera" is made for bikes, not weapons.

I've tried a lot of different cams on weapons and the weapon shock is a killer...either the mount or the camera dies, some on the first round.

Contrary to logic, .223 has worse weapon shock than the Barret .50

Might remind many of U, that the original cost of this M1,was $30.00 2 mfr..$495.00

If anyone has any real-time tactical experience with using a weapons mounted camera, I'd like to hear from you. There is a lot of gear out there, but just like weapon mounted otics and lights, how they work after a weapon has been shot afew times is sometimes dissappointing! Thanks for your help!

My cost thru the CVMP in the 80s was about $90.00 for the rifle + $80 for the paperwork.

Try this site www.advancedtaccam.com this is a hardened version of the ATC with a RIS rail mount. vid of it on a ar-15 on youtube.
