Ok, first off, London Bridge Trading Company is a great company and most of their stuff (have to be honest here) is made in the USA. Loren is the COO of LBT, is a solid dude and also a former Command Sergeant Major. I first met him out in VA Beach a few years back working with a company I’m a partner with a company called Neptunic Technologies. We were talking textiles and we hit it off right away over beers. It’s always nice to see a guy with operational experience at the helm of a company like this. Before I met Loren, I was a big fan of LBT and all that they make. I’ve told the story a few times, about replacing my failing Blackhawk pouches (a warranty doesn’t mean crap in the field) with 200 round M-60 pouches from LBT and they never let me down…and believe me, I punished them. I eventually rocked a complete set of LBT M-60 H-Gear and somehow throughout the years loaned it out (I’ll get it back eventually Johnny!) and never got it back. That set of H-Gear has more combat experience than most guys can claim.
Anyway, this bag is a personal favorite of mine and essential for any operator on the move, the traveling contractor, serial killer (j/k) or that big family camping trip!

I have to agree with you, LBT makes some quality products. I got the back room/upstairs tour awhile back and got to see the difference in the LBT gear bags compared to other look a likes. A nylon bag on a cheap frame and wheels will quickly let you down. LBT uses bomber frames and high quality roller blade wheels on their bags that can support a full load out time and time again.
I have one of the AAFES versions of this bag and so far I really like it. To be able to have that amount of space for all of the uniforms, socks, underwear and some cold weather gear is very nice. However the selling poitn is the fact that you do not have ot go digging through a bag to get that one item you really need that just so happens to be at the bottom. You just open it up and grab it. This bag acts as my dresser in my tent.
Exactly..it's nice having everything at your fingetips
These are what we deployed with. Overall they held up great and were much more convenient than trying to live out of a duffle. The one weak spot I would say (after seeing a few hundred of these bags go to and from Afghanistan with us) is the main zipper. Over the 12 months about 1 in 20 had the zipper blow out. This was usually solved by wrapping duct tape around the whole thing. That's fine until you get to customs and have to cut it open and then tape it all over again. Mine didn't blow out and I was happy our unit splurged instead of making us just use duffles.
Was the bag an LBT with the zipper issue?
I am going to say yes but with the caveat that it is not in front of me to double check. I will also add that these bags were not treated nice. They were tossed on and off(again and again) trucks as well as stacked with God knows how much weight being put on the bottom bags. This is why we are not allowed to have nice things.
Good copy, let me know. Thanks-BW
Looks like a fine trunk bag/grab & go for SWAT kit. I like it.
To all military personnel. If you are buying it for personal purchase, I suggest to call in the order in so you will get the 20% military discount. The price that you see on the website has 15% off the original price. These bags usually cost more if you buy it from a distributor. Make sure you let them know that you are military when you do order.
CATeam- Good stuff, I didn't know they offered 20% to active military. -BW
I was shocked after emailing that they just applied the discount and gave me a quote.
My immediate response was to start looking at what else to buy – insulated hydration carriers (6142), and the velcro panel TQ holders (2764A) are LBT exclusives, so I’m getting those now too.
I still have nightmares about the day I had to turn my LBT 10 pocket ruck back into S4.
I bought my coffin on my own, and absolutely love it. Its taken over as the "honey, we're only taking one bag" bag for vaca and our honeymoon last year. (Saves on the bag fees)
If you guys ever are in need, check out the LBT drag bag. Loaded out, it will fit perfectly in a Pelican case and your rig wont have bumps and bruises from airtravel when you get to your destination.
Ive yet to find LBT kit that was wanting for anything.
Good stuff Shaggy! -BW
I was gonna say something about the hefty prices, but seeing as there's a 20% active duty discount those medical backpacks are starting to look real nice…
I'm glad I could help a little. Even though its not much additional discount, you can probably use the money you save to buy more of that TSA approved cable locks for the outside zipper pockets for extra security. I found out the discount when I called about them forgetting to include the dividers for the bag. I just threw out the "military discount" question and they told me that. I think you can also use the discount online by throwing it in the comment, but I just like getting the answer immediately so i can decide quicker. Not that it matters.
These bags are awesome quality. The bag similar to this that they sell at the PX is probably a one time use only, at least to my experience. Or maybe its just my luck. The seams didn't hold as well, especially with the conditions with throwing equipment around. Like Brandon said "a warranty doesn’t mean crap in the field". Its good to always bring a roll of 100 mile hour tape.
