They’ve certainly been timing their trailers right. Remember they put on on an aircraft carrier? You can expect another Act of Valor trailer this evening at some point during the game. Videobash says this is the specific trailer for tonight. Other say it will be a condensed version of scenes from the five-minute clip I’ve embedded below.
Either way, the trailers certainly make it clear they’re (SEALs) doing it right. Now I want to see a movie using real PJs and real DP guys (though they’re called something else now) fighting terrorists that have already slimed some place somewhere. Then of course they will need to do something with SF and MARSOC guys (nothing against previous movies, but I think we can all agree Heartbreak Ridge was less than grittily realistic).
Have a good day today, enjoy the game and be safe. If you are deployed, hang in there and know many of us still appreciate you and wish you were home.
Hat tip to Soldier Systems for letting us know about the Super Bowl ad.

So looking forward to this movie
Yeah, it’s going to be completely beast.
I’ve been spamming this out to all the 2 friends in the world I have.
On a random note. If I recall correctly the second transformers movie used real pjs. In that desert battle scene towards the end of the movie.
Hey, what’s wrong with Heartbreak Ridge? Granted it was hardly the most realistic portrayal of Recon Marines or even Marines period but I really liked that movie. Having said that, with Act of Valor coming out maybe they’ll do a realistic remake of Heartbreak Ridge, update the setting and use real (Force)Recon Marines and show what they really do. I honestly think that with the exception of some of the Air Force Spec Ops, (Force) Recon Marines are probably the least well known Spec Ops types by the general public, of course within the Corps Recon Marines are practically gods.
Are the terrorists real in the movie, too?
LOL………..it’s funny to see guys getting worked up over this film…….IT’s STILL A MOVIE fellas! Realistic yes. Absolute reality? Far from it. Hollywood is Hollywood whether you’re using real actors or fake actors. It’s still acting. It’s interesting to see the perception even soldiers have of this movie vs. someone who’s worked in sets and knows how movies are made.
On another note say what you want but Tears of the Sun was one of the best SEAL, Spec Ops movies to come out of Hollywood. Maybe not again have been the most realistic but SEALs died. SEALs aren’t Captain America. Do SEALs die in this movie? Death is as much a part of combat as heroics. Should be portrayed as such. Aka Black Hawk Down probably one of the most realistic war movies to come out of Hollywood in the last 20 years.
Quiet professionals?
