Legion Firearms .308 Now Available for Preorder

A teaser of what's to come.

For those of you who've been asking, yes, Legion Firearms is building a .308 caliber rifle. While the LF-10 won't be available until the first quarter of next year, and the full range of photos and reviews won't be available for another few weeks, you can preorder one now.

The prototype is currently in the hands of Steve Fisher, who will be doing the first non-Legion staff member evaluation. It has a billet upper and lower with a nickel boron bolt carrier group and a 1x11 twist stainless steel hex fluted barrel. Other features are micro MOA adjustable gas block, SureFire muzzle brake and a new proprietary Legion-designed rail system instead of the monolithics on previous Legion rifles.

Note on this rail system - as soon as all the patent stuff is complete I'll give you some more information (and pictures), but Legion's Adam Morehead says "It's f#c&ing bad ass...this Gen 3 rail system. Prototypes are available, but we're holding them close until SHOT."

Note: I am currently assisting Legion Firearms on a short term basis with their social media and ad copy in a non-paid capacity.

The LF-10 will be made to the same exacting standards as previous Legion rifles, with 14.5" or 16" barrel so it's "...truly battle rifle...though even with the 14.5" barrel we've had consistent hits out to a thousand yards, so it's still a long range gun..."

The LF-10 will have a hex-fluted barrel, CMC 3.5 lb curved trigger, SOPMOD collapsible stock and the aforementioned Gen 3 Legion rail system. It will not come standard with front or rear sights unless the buyer requests specific add-ons, however Legion will happily put Legion sights on there if the buyer so desires - they will be free with the preorder (which is roughly a $240 value).

Though Legion is slammed right now, they promised to check the site periodically over the next couple of days to address any questions or concerns. Adam would also like to me tell you they'll coat the color any color the customer desires "...as long as it doesn't suck or make an awesome rifle look stupid."

Hopefully in the near future I'll be able to tell you about the signature series rifle Legion will be releasing soon.

If you are interested in preordering  an LF10 for the free sights or a low serial number or just because, contact Chuck Ramos, Legion's Director of Sales. 512-584-5522. It will require a deposit of $800, which is refundable if you decide you don't like the rifle once you see the pictures.

The LF-10 will retail for $3290.
