This July, Applied Ballistics will release "Modern Advancements in Long Range Shooing - Volume 1, by Bryan Litz.

“This new series is heavily based in experimental ballistics, and takes a sort of 'myth busters' approach to many of the questions and problems faced by modern long range shooters,” Litz said in a press release. “In today’s world of marketing hype and movie magic, Applied Ballistics continues to explore long range shooting using the scientific method, and publishes the results in a non-biased way that's easily understood by everyone.”

Here's a brief bio of Litz from Applied Ballistics website:

"Bryan earned his aerospace engineering degree from Pennsylvania State University in 2002. For the next 6 years, he worked for the US Air Force on Air-to-air missile design, modeling and simulation. In November 2008, he left the government and became the Chief Ballistician for Berger Bullets. Bryan founded Applied Ballistics and has produced numerous articles, books, and videos related to the science of long range shooting."

Nick Vitalbo, contributing author and president of nVisti Tactical Innovation which specializing in small arms fire control systems, optical wind measurement and product development, explains state-of-the-art instrumentation such as laser rangefinders and wind measurement devices in detail, the release states.

Volume 1 will discuss topics such as how twist rate affects muzzle velocity and precision, how to the various commercial chronographs stack up and features to look for in a serious long range rifle, the release states.

The book is scheduled to be released in late July for $39.95. It will be offered for pre-order from June 24 until July 25. Readers can pre-order the book for $35.95.
