Tactical Towel

When I was deployed last year, I took this towel with me. My mission required me to move around Afghanistan and Iraq, a lot. I had to live out of my rucksack. A regular towel would have taken up too much space. This towel packs well, is very light, and is large enough to do the job. It works as advertised: absorbent and easy to wring out. And it dries quickly. You just have to get used to the way it "grabs" at your body; it doesn't feel the same as a terry towel. For personal comfort and lightening your load when you need to stay mobile, this is the kit to have.

Just used one of these on a deployment. It works great and takes a very short time to dry. I wish I would have bought one years ago.

unless it's december or january in iraq, anything wet dries in about fifteen minutes. science has yet to improve on terricloth for water absorbsion so far. but i know a guy who thinks the more specops gear he has, the more lethal he can be.

I like the comment about the guy having more speops stuff the more lethal he can be. I clicked on the link and it took me to Amazon. Well, they were out so I did a yahoo search and found it for about $9.99. Bit cheaper and you could actually buy two. On a personal note, I've carried a very think sheet towl. Okay its not thick but it does the job and take up a little more space then this thing but I've used it for more then just a towl. I'm still going to order one to have.

I'm no frontline guy, but I am a combat cook, and it gets hot as hell in in a deployed kitchen. A company called Frog Togs makes something called the chilly pad. Keeps you dry and cool. Works great everywhere.
