Coming Soon: Kit Up Goes to SHOT Show

If you can't make it to Las Vegas next week for this year's SHOT Show, don't worry: Your friends here at Kit Up and Military.com have you covered.

It wasn't a tough decision. SHOT -- for shooting, hunting and outdoor trade -- is the biggest show of its kind in the world, with more than 60,000 attendees who descend on the Sands Expo and Convention Center on the Las Vegas strip to check out the latest products offered by the shooting and hunting industry -- firearms, accessories, apparel and more.

As we've done in years past, the Military.com team will spend Monday at the range -- the Boulder Rifle & Pistol Club outside Vegas -- to see and shoot some of the tactical weapons and other products that catch our eye. While there, we plan to stop by the tents of bigger manufactures such as Smith & Wesson, Beretta, Glock and Daniel Defense, as well as those of smaller companies such as CMMG, which last year turned heads its Mk-47 Mutant, and TrackingPoint Inc., whose smart rifle is being evaluated by the U.S. military.

It'll be interesting to see if this year's show features companies continuing to push the envelop on AR-15 and AK-47 designs and whether they're bringing to market products that incorporate so-called smart gun technology.

At any rate, please check back here and on Military.com for our total coverage of the show and feel free to send us an email or comment to this post about any specific products you'd like us to check out.
