IWI US, Inc. claims it has fixed the problem with its Galil ACE pistol in 7.62x39mm.

The subsidiary of Israel Weapon Industries Ltd., just announced that the “new Galil ACE pistol (GAP39-II) is now shipping to individuals who were part of the GAP39 Recall and opted for a replacement in lieu of a refund,” according to an IWI US press release.

“The GAP39-II contains the proper receiver with a 2-pin (2-hole) fire control group construction.”

The modernized Galil ACE is based upon the reliable mechanism of the original Galil assault rifle first developed by IMI in the late 1960s.

Wholesale distributors will begin to receive the first commercial quantities of the GAP39-II in the beginning of June.
